The Company's main business activity is cultivation and manufacture of 'Black Tea' and it strives to produce teas of top quality, which are acceptable to the discerning world market. It operates through seven quality tea estates in Assam namely, Barasali, Gatoonga, Kuhum, Mokrung, Salkathoni, Samaguri and Sangsua until recently the Company acquired Moheema Tea Estate on 25th January 2024 which is a 150 years old garden located at a stretch of approximately 27 km from Jorhat City and 17 km from Golaghat, Assam. Moheema Tea Estate is planted with best Tea Bushes (Jaat) TV1, TV23, TV17 and TS520 which provide the best quality of tea leafs in the nearby district. The Moheema Tea Estate is one of the finest tea leaf production estate since 1971. All estates of the company are located in the prime quality belt on the "South Bank" of Assam spanning the districts of Golaghat, Jorhat and Sibsagar. The Company has been investing considerable amount on development expenditure in all the estates which has resulted in increase in harvest, improvement in productivity and consistent improvement in the quality of its teas manufactured over the years.

The company has three operating state of the art tea processing centers in Gatoonga, Salkathoni and Mokrung Tea estates which are ISO 22000:2005 and FSSAI certified and equipped with modern machineries and one upcoming tea processing centre with latest technology machineries at Sangsua Tea Estate. The units are also verified under “Trustea” certification. The company produces around 5.5 million kgs. of super quality black tea from tea leaves cultivated in its own tea gardens as well as from outsourced purchases.

The processed teas churned out from the above named units have over the years become synonymous with super premium quality Tea and has developed a niche for itself amongst the connoisseurs within the country and overseas as well. Tea produced from own tea leaves in all of the 3 tea factories find its name in the "Top 10 batting Order" at the Country's Public Auctions. The company has also niched into leisure tourism business by utilizing its historical bungalows amidst gardens and ventured into unique leisure cum golf resort facility which is located in its Sangsua Tea Estate. The resort has been a major attraction for tourists from within and outside India.

The company has currently engaged around 4000 employees in its gardens and offices and has a forward looking policy on health, safety, training and incentives for the workforces which are continuously being improved.

B&A Limited is a professionally managed company; majority of its Board members consists of Independent Directors from different works of life, with specialized knowledge and experience in their respective fields. Chairman Mr. Robin Farley is the elder grandson of Late Hemendra Prasad Barooah and Mr. Somnath Chatterjee, Managing Director of the company has a wealth of experience for running the group.
